one year ago today i wrote my very first blog post! so today i’m throwing a virtual, pinterest party and you’re all invited. honestly, this is a momentous occasion for me.  when i pushed “publish” that first night and birthed sepia charm, i wondered if i really wanted to expose myself in such a way.  would my writing be good enough? would anyone care to read it?  who was i to fancy myself an expert?  somewhere along the way i gave up that fear and i just decided to share…share what was in my heart, what was on my mind, and what inspired me.  i have so loved reconnecting with this part of my brain and the feedback that i’ve received has encouraged me to continue on the journey.  some of you have been there since that first post and others i’ve met along the way.  either way, please know that i’m so charmed that you would take a moment of your precious time to spend here with me.

“it’s my birthday and i’ll {change} if i want to,” so in honor of my birthday, you’ll notice i’ve made some changes to our look (nothing too crazy): my sepia typewriter has been replaced by some sepia sunglasses, to reflect the tagline, (life thru sepia colored glasses), and one of my favorite indulges (hello, louis vuitton).  this blog is truly about the stories that design inspires in me (as i see it). so i thought the header could be indicative of that (for now ).

“i’d rather be seen in green,” so  i’ve replaced our pink accent color with green.  i was never really a fan of green, but it has recently evolved into being my favorite color.  it feels so fresh and gives a nod to all that is au naturale.  where would the flowers and the trees (two of my favorite things) be without the color green? and it plays nicely with my other faves: cream, grey, beige, and greige.

“you like me, you really like me,” so i’ve also added some menu items to help you to navigate to sepia charm around the web: i’m on pinterest, twitter, and facebook, so just in case you feel like giving me a  ”follow” or “like,” i’m just one click away.

and finally, drumroll please…i’ve created a blogroll on the homepage.  i’ve been wanting to do this for a while, but couldn’t really figure out how to do it, until now! some of these are the actual blogs that inspired me to give blogging a try.  some of these are written by friends.  some of these are fellow bloggers who have shown love (or at least “like”) via wordpress or twitter.  at any rate, i’m happy to share them with you.  i’m sure the list will continue to grow over this next year.  by the way, no one pays for any placement on this blog.  if i mention it, it is because i truly like it.
